The top picture was taken from where we first parked. The second was a still life I just thought was lovely. The third shows that snow was still around plus a glimpse of the Lodge. Mom and I stayed there a couple of years ago for the night. What a great memory. The fourth picture was taken by Janet and captures Wizard Island. The following pictures show the three of us enjoying ourselves...
Really enjoy driving the Kia Soul. After taking in the sites at the Rim Village, we headed back and decided to pause and take a short drive up the rim drive as it is only open a few months of the year. Here is a different perspective of the lake and oh was there still snow around.
We drove as far as Grouse Viewpoint and Janet got these three great shots...
We were discussing how there must have been billions of pictures taken at Crater Lake over the years. It is an amazing place to be sure. Such blue intense water and stunning scenery. Below, I close with two pictures. One, a piece of art created by nature and just caught it for a moment. The other, a moment of laughter as it just seems so obvious and yet, they have to post signs like these.
We got home a bit after six and Janet made a great dinner of pasta and meat sauce. I did modify my portion with peas. Tasted pasta for the first time in months and was totally underwhelmed. Realizing how much I do not enjoy the taste of a lot of carb based foods now that I have been away from them for a while. But, I did get to enjoy the filling of a piece of peanut butter pie from Beckie's Cafe. Stopped and got the pie to go. Mom got her blackberry pie. A pretty good day that ended with a nice visit with Joyce and Mike. Tomorrow it will be off to the Lake-of-the-Woods and then swinging down to Hilt for the multi-person liquor run. Too funny.
