A Day for an Adventure

Met up with Mick and Brett at The Shanty Cafe for breakfast.  They love the place and it had been more than a year since I had been so agreed.  Enjoyed a meat lover's omelet and substituted cottage cheese and tomato for the hash browns and toast.  Add coffee and a damn fine meal.  Here is a picture of the boys at the cafe.
So as we had breakfast we discussed what we were all going to do for the day.  They did not have a whole lot planned and I mentioned I was going to drive over and see how the American Ridge Faerie Gathering was going at Mt. Rainier.  They thought that was a grand idea and soon we were on the road after my Amazon Fresh grocery delivery (arrived 30 minutes early!) plus a stop at Walgreen's for prescriptions.  Oh and who can forget the drive through so the boys could get their fu-fu coffee drinks.

Here is a sequence of pictures on the road at Mt. Rainier...

It was lovely and I am glad to have made the trip as it was a good test run for next week's drive down to Ashland.  Going to be sure to stop every hour and walk around.  Also, I do not think that at any point the road gets as high as it did going over to American Ridge as you can see by all the snow still on the sides of the road.  By the way, Brett is from Hawaii and so we got several pictures of him in the snow to send back to his family.  Home by 7:30pm and in bed by 9pm.  Good Night.
