No real plans for the day so decide to putter around the house and have the TV on in the background. We (in the royal sense of the word) kicked off the morning by watching 4 hours of live coverage of the Le Tour de France. It was stage 8 today.
Then it was Indy Car driving and that went on for another three hours. But at the same time I got dishes washed and laundry done so it was not a complete waste of time and there were several phone conversations to be had with Ani in California who is going to be up here at the end of the month = YEAH!
And then finally, the Wimbledon Men's Finals and Federer won it 4 sets to take his 7th title there. To think is only 31. Wowzers! And yet, they kept referring to how old he is. Kinda scary in sports these days that over 30 is old. There was a rain delay as well, but now they have the roof they can move into place to complete match play. What was kind of a bummer is that after years, NBC lost the rights to ESPN/ABC and so they showed the match at a more convenient time of noon here when it was already done and done. That was not fun. But in the end, while Federer did win the trophy, it was native Andy Murray that won the hearts of all those watching at the match, on the grounds of Wimbledon and in hundreds of pubs around Great Britain.
In full disclosure, a nap won out after all this sport viewing and that is exactly what a lazy summer Sunday is all about.
