Yes indeed, it is that time of year again. While most of Seattle has their eye on the hydroplane races and various events over at Lake Washington, it is Salmonfest up here at Lake City Way. After nearly 60 years of being Pioneer days they saw a need for change. And the change came via the name of the event. Gone is the fried chicken dinner and hello to the healthier Salmon bake (which is actually grilled as you can see below).
There is a craft fair and a children's parade tonight plus the big parade kick's off at 7pm. Who knew I would have front and center viewing as the parade route got tweaked this year and runs right in front of our building. Jodie and Rob are coming over this afternoon and we are going to be grilling some brawts to enjoy. Likely play a game or two of Catan as well. Will let you kn ow how it all goes. Happy Saturday!
