The Dinner To Be Remembered - The Arrival

Jodie and Rob host some amazing dinners at their home and this was one for the record books.  We arrived a bit before 4pm and left just about 11pm.  Yes, it was a dining marathon.  In trying to decide how to post the dining experience I have decided to break it into the arrival, the early courses and the finale.  This will break up the 25 or so photos and make it a bit more readable.  So let's begin with the dinner table.  It was lovely and set for 11 and soon dropped to 10 when it was realized there had been a miscount.  No worries, done and done.
Our hosts for the evening are Rob & Jodie and in the fabulous tie-dyed shirt is Michael who drove up from Long Beach, WA for the event.  Look at those smiling faces.  Everyone is excited about what is in store.
This is the second vintner's dinner that Damon has attended and he is visiting until the 21st of October.  It is then back to Las Vegas for Lasik surgery.  he plans to be back up in Seattle for Thanksgiving and into the new year.
Beautiful roses for a beautiful person.  It was not to be known that it was Jodie's birthday the next day, but really do you think I kept it quiet!?  Not, but we did only sing the birthday song once.  But lost count of the birthday toasts.
The first beverage of the evening was a Eiffel Affair with blueberry vodka, creme de cassis, cointreau, rose nectar, champagne and fresh berries.  Now Jodie had tried to be true to the cocktail that she had first enjoyed in Las Vegas at the restaurant at the Paris Complex, but the rose nectar she had ordered online still had not arrived 6 weeks after ordering.  Even without the nectar it was stunning and a lovely way to start a magical meal.
The "Arrival" course were Brie Tartlets that had a walnut half and topped with a homemade grape relish.  A fabulous kick off to the 9 course gastronomic feast.  By 5pm everyone had arrived and we were ready to continue our food-tastic journey!
