Post Theatre - Pre Portland

The weekend is proving to be quite enjoyable.  Book of Mormon was a true delight.  Laughed a lot and yes, was even shocked a couple of times, but all in good fun.  When there is an entire song about "F*#k you God" you know you are in for a wild ride.  My favorite scene had to be the Mormon Hell Dream complete with dancing Starbuck's Coffee Cups.  It was a packed house and they were scalping tickets out front for up to $900!  That is just insane.  We enjoyed a quiet dinner afterwards as today was going to be a full day.  But true to form, within the hour of getting home Damon had downloaded both a video of the show and the original cast recording!

We were up early and got things in order at the apartment, the main thing, getting the Christmas tree packed up and out it went after enjoying a wonderful Chinese lunch at Shanghai Garden.  In  addition to Sandy and Allen, Jodie and Rob joined us and were quite generous in that they surprised us all by treating us to lunch.  Then we were on the road south to Portland arriving in time to get settled at the hotel and then picking up my sister, Janet and friend before heading off to Tad's Chicken 'N Dumplings for dinner.  It is an old time restaurant right on the Sandy River and was a delight to have a leisurely dinner.  Janet was also quite generous in treating all of us and I must say the chicken livers were so moist and delicious plus the oysters were a true delight.  It was a full day, but a good one!
