After a mellow evening and it was shattered at 3AM as I awoke with a horrific neck ache. They had just replaced the beds, which was fabulous, but still using crappy little pillows with no support. Damon was awesome and went down to the front desk only to return with three real pillows! Yeah! He also gave me a fantastic neck massage that was sorely needed. Every pun intended! Finally a bit more sleep and then up for coffee with an old friend who wanted to meet Damon. And where else, but VooDoo doughnuts, but we were smart and met up at the location out on Sandy Blvd.
Damon and I arrived first and decided on having their Bacon topped Maple Bars. They are fun and we went ahead and got a dozen for the office to experience.
While waiting for Lin's arrival, Damon hammed it up on the casket bench and then played some old-fashion pinball machines. Soon Lin arrived and we got to enjoy a leisurely hour of catching up and he was pleased to meet Damon.
Yes, below is Lin and I actually got him to pose for a photo which he really does not like to do. After we parted company, it was back to the hotel and got checked out. Brunch plans got canceled and we were off to see Lisa and Mark so Damon could do some computer consulting. I was able to make some long delayed phone calls and soon we were headed north.
A quiet night at home watching Southpark episodes and some movies plus enjoyed a tuna, black bean casserole with sun-dried tomato Alfredo sauce. This has proven to be a favorite of Damon's. With the new year I have been cooking more and more at home and it is not only good and tasty, but a lot cheaper. Especially helpful with the recent change in my take-home pay.
