State Visit to Oregon - Sunday Sayonara

So Sunday's Brunch proved to be something completely different. It was a bit of Sweden in the southeast section of Portland at a place called Broder just doen the block from Clinton Street Theater. See the guy in the above picture, well that is where our table was. Yup, right out there on Clinton and for all to see, but oh did we have a good time. Kicking off was Danish Mary's which are like Bloody versions, but with Aquavit! Score! Alos, starting us off was something my dearly departed Aunt Val used to make all the time, Aebelskivers. Can you say yum! They are danish pancakes and served with four toppings. Divine.
It was also Christmas and my birthday (oh from last year) and so we had a grand time and lots of laughs. Here I am with a Danish Mary and one of the two martini glasses that they gave me that were custom made to NYC and SF. LOVE THEM. Also got a bottle of Yanzi, a ginger vodka, another YUM! Oh and a subtle purple flourish!
Here is Lisa...she and I have so fricking much history it is scary. I gave her Petco.Com's sock puppet for those that remember. She and Mark have a dog and well, they love their dog and sock puppet was for pets and it was retro and that is what I gave a lot of last year. Oh, do not even ask about this year and yes, I have over half my Christmas shopping done and it is not even September 15th, 100 days until Christmas! Yes, I am feeling quite happy right now thank you very much. So Mark stayed out of the pictures, but below you will see that we had a fabulous brunch of Lisa's choice in top left of the Lefsa special of the day. It was stuffed with potatoes and cheese and sausage. A Scandanaivian burrito of sorts and topped with eggs. Quite tasty. To the right top is the Danish Egg Scramble that I am so jealous of. It had Danish Blue Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Roasted Tomatoes plus came with a fruit cup. Lower left was my choice of the Smoked Trout Pytt I Panna which is like a hash and it was dry and not nearly as good as Mark's scramble or the mouse...oh the mouse, it was Liver Mouse that was a special of the day and on the right bottom. Can you say HELLO! There was even chicken schmutz on top. So good. A meal not to be forgotten. Nor can we forget the amazing coffee. What a great meal and a place not to be forgotten.

  1. OK...Wordsmith speaking....
just "doen" should be just "down"?
    devine? or divine?
    gave "here" should be "her"?
    "event" chicken or "even" chicken?
    Just checking..... :-)
