February 11 is Peppermint Patty Day, a day in which fans of the confection rejoice for the creation of the lip-smacking, creamy peppermint filling covered in semisweet dark chocolate.
Invented in 1940, the patty was a success and its popularity gained further momentum in the mid-1960s when the comic strip Peanuts made its debut and named one of the main characters Patricia “Peppermint Patty’ Reichardt.
