A Day For The Gay Gourmet

Woke up early and got work out of the way early.  Emails read and replied to plus a couple of phone calls.  By 8:30 I was showered, dressed and ready to take on the day.  Breakfast was coffee with heavy cream plus Greek yogurt with protein powder and fresh blueberries.  Quite tasty and thank you Janet for getting all the needed food items for this and all the meals.  Lazy morning and decided to make Deviled Eggs for all to enjoy.  We had enough after lunch for appetizers at happy hour.
Lunch was a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Using up the leftovers as we go along.  Feeling quite satisfied, we decided to go for a little drive about and that included stopping at Fred Meyer for gas ($3.32 gal w/ Janet's rewards discount).  Ventured to Jacksonville and over hills and through some dales.  Too early for blackberries, we did have fun and many laughs.  A nap was a thing of beauty and luxury upon returning home while Janet and Mom played a game of Scrabble, the 2nd of the day.  After my nap, I went upstairs and prepped dinner which has become a staple in my menu line-up.
Yes, you guessed it, asparagus with Alfredo sauce and topped with chicken breasts.  For spices on the chicken, it was a blend of Mrs. Dash and garlic salt.  An hour in the oven at 350 degrees and then an extra 5-7 minutes under the broiler gave the poultry the nice golden color.  Again, thank you Janet for helping make this possible in doing the advanced shopping.  We enjoyed the Deviled Eggs at happy hour.  Janet had a lemonade that I made while Mon & I enjoyed a blueberry vodka lemonade.  Pretty tasty and refreshing on a warm summer day.
Mom was enjoying herself and her new hair cut she got Thursday.  Lots of chat and many memories shared as the evening progressed plus Popsicles around for all.  We all had different flavors as there were three choices of lime, banana and root beer.  Made it an early evening and enjoyed watching a few videos on You Tube before crashing.  Until tomorrow, Cheers!
