Today I have selected a random selection of images from the past few days. I am stunned by how hard the rest of the country has been hit. The west coast and southern Florida are among the few places that are not caught up in the deep freeze.
They are calling it an Artic Vortex and is making for some of the coldest weather in the past several decades. Tomorrow Minneapolis is to be -47 with wind chill and Chicago is close behind with -37. This is just crazy. The game being played in Green Bay today is to be the coldest ever. Why would tens of thousands of people put themselves through that?
Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and it can be beautiful at times. But then you get to a point of where it is nothing short of dangerous. They were showing that due to the roller coaster of temps that an ice storm will be on track for tomorrow and that icicles are going to become a real hazard for many.
I remember several years ago when Portland had a horrible storm and Janet got stuck there going back to Dallas. She ended up spending the night at my place and when I took her back to the airport the next day we arrived just as a massive sheet of ice came sliding down off the building like a guillotine. It was scary and they have since built a covering over that area of the airport so it cannot happen again.
